Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic and friendly multi-disciplinary team.
The role of HCA is an essential part of our GP Practice team. You will be working alongside our patient focused clinical and management teams, providing an essential support function and delivering the best care to all our patients.
The HCA will support the GP(s) smooth running of clinics by performing the more routine administration and clinical tasks on behalf of the GP freeing up their time to focus on the patient.
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and organisation skills, and have the ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team, within a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is essential along with being an effective team player.
Main duties of the job
Role Requirements
· Undertake task and duties delegated by the clinical and management teams
· Undertaking procedures such as blood pressure, new patient checks, ECG’s, Immunisations, wound care, dipping urine
· Preparing patients prior to going in to see the GP, taking a brief history and basic readings in readiness for the GP appointment.
· Ordering supplies and equipment
· Sterilisation of equipment
· Basic literacy, numeracy and computer skills
· Demonstrates an understanding of General Practice
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Salary: £10.50-£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
